The Great Well Done.

His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’ – Matthew 25:21 & 23, ESV

In the past, I used to take this verse very lightly. It felt like just any other compliment one can ever receive. But it all changed when I got a text from a person I least expected saying, “Thanks for the prompt and good work!”

What did I do to earn his praise? Who am I to be worthy of his compliments? I merely did what I ought to…!

But, it wasn’t as simple as it sounded. These words are not expressed by a random person on the street. These words are said by people of status. People of authority.

Oh, what honor is that!

Now, when we take a step back and put things into perspective. The Creator of the universe will look at our lives and reveal how we made use of the resources He has entrusted to us. He will judge our lives depending on how we utilize the resources He has given us to worship Him through serving the needy in our midst.

Have you done what the Master expects of you? Have you maximized the resources so as to serve “the least of these” (ref: Matthew 25: 40 & 45)?

The Master said, “As you did to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me. Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little, I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your Master.” (Matthew 25:40 & 21, ESV)

Are you at the receiving end of this honor?
